What is insecurity? Insecurity is a feeling, an emotion, an expression, a habit, a lifestyle. Insecurity is many things. It can be whatever you want it to be. Insecurity is basically self doubt, low self -esteem, low self-confidence, anxiety. Insecurity is an ugly thing. It makes you hate people you don’t even know. I feel, the most common age for insecurities to start developing and taking place is between the age of 11 and 20. Some people spend their whole lives feeling insecure and missing out all the good things in life by doing so.

People often feel that they are not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough. This is the time when insecurities find them, hold on to them, suck their blood, don’t let go and drown them. From my own experience, I can tell you that it will be hard at first. You will feel like the whole world is against you and that the gods hate you, but let me tell you nothing like that is happening. It is just psychology. It is all in the mind. I can assure you that you are strong enough to overcome this. Everything will be alright.

To try to get rid of your insecurities, start by looking in the mirror everyday and list 10 to 15 things that you love or admire about yourself. Make sure you say it out loud and actually mean what you say, don’t just say it for the heck of it. Just by doing this, after a month you will see the improvement in yourself and your self esteem will boost up.

I am not bluffing. Try it. It helps.

But in order to magic away your self esteem issues, there needs to be a lot of hard work, dedication and will from your side.  You need to be patient and determined and feel hopeful and think that yes, I can do it! After all, good things come to those who wait. Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud. Don’t let insecure thoughts ruin something amazing. If people are purposely trying to bring you down, it only means that you are above them. Overcome your insecurity. Let your light shine through.
